Walking into a home with natural or engineered stone countertops gives the kitchen or bathroom a sense of elegance and beauty not achievable with standard laminate. Stone countertops are durable and hold up against most stains, scratches, and chips that would permanently damage other surfaces.

Natural Stone - includes granite, marble, onyx, and quartzite. These materials are direct from the earth and do have the ability to stain and chip, but only in extreme cases. They contain natural graining and patterns that aren't controlled in a factory. This lends to their uniqueness. These surfaces will need to be sealed and cleaned regularly to maintain their beauty.

Quartz Slabs - These countertops are about 90% natural quartz pieces that are combined with resins and binders to create a consistent and seamless appearance like laminate does, but with the durability of stone. Some quartz companies are creating swirled and grained patterned colors in attempt to mimic natural stone, but still maintain consistent coloring. This surface needs almost no maintenance due to the resins in the material.
